BrandZeal Media ED, Ben Mamedu: Nigerians Should Take Advantage of Affordable Insurance Services to Checkmate Losses

The Executive Director of BrandZeal Media Limited, Mr. Ben Mamedu, has called on Nigerians to take advantage of affordable insurance services in the country to cushion their assets against unexpected losses.

Speaking at a media engagement, the BrandZeal Media boss stated that the harsh economic situation makes it even more crucial to protect assets that one has laboured so hard to acquire.

According to him, paying the affordable premium which has remained stable for several years despite the high inflation, makes it easier to replace assets in the event of a loss.

Highlighting the essence of insurance in present-day Nigeria, he noted that insurance remains a fundamental instrument for risk mitigation, financial stability and business continuity amidst prevailing macro-economic headwinds.

He explained that with inflation squeezing household disposable income and driving up the cost of living, replacing damaged or lost property out-of-pocket has become nearly impossible for many citizens and businesses.

Insurance, he emphasised, bridges this gap by offering a financial buffer that prevents individuals from slipping into financial distress when adversity strikes.

He listed key benefits of insurance coverage in current times to include:

  • Risk Transfer: Safeguarding personal assets, equipment, and property against fire, theft, and accidental damage.
  • Business Survival: Ensuring Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) can bounce back smoothly following unexpected disruptions without liquidating core operations.
  • Savings Preservation: Eliminating the need to exhaust life savings or take high-interest loans to cover emergency losses.
  • Peace of Mind: Offering psychological relief to investors and family heads, enabling them to focus on productive economic activities.

He urged members of the public to discard misconceptions surrounding insurance, consult licensed underwriters and brokers, and subscribe to policies tailored to their financial capacities.
