Stanbic IBTC Capital Wins Four Honours at 2026 AIHN Investment Banking Awards

Stanbic IBTC Capital, a subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Holdings, distinguished itself at the 2026 Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria (AIHN) Investment Banking Awards, winning four prestigious honours. The firm received the Equity Deal of the Year 2025 for the N350.4 billion Zenith Bank Plc Rights Issue, Equity House of the Year 2025, Best Corporate Bond House of the Year 2025, and Best Commercial Paper House of the Year 2025.

The award ceremony, held in Lagos, celebrated exceptional contributions to the industry under the theme “Three Decades of Capitalising Capital, Pioneering the Future, and Enabling Wealth.”

This year’s AIHN awards provided a platform to celebrate outstanding achievements in the investment banking and capital markets landscape, bringing together leading issuing houses, corporate entities, regulators, and other key stakeholders in the financial sector. The ceremony was particularly special as AIHN marked its 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades of dedication, professionalism, innovation, and service to the Nigerian capital market.

Commenting on the recognition, Oladele Sotubo, Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Capital, described the four wins as evidence of the Group’s broad-based strength across the capital markets. He stated, “To be named Equity House of the Year, Best Corporate Bond House, and Best Commercial Paper House in the same season, while also securing the Equity Deal of the Year, speaks to the depth of our franchise. It is a reflection of the talent, discipline, and client focus that define Stanbic IBTC, and it strengthens our resolve to keep supporting the growth and resilience of Nigeria’s capital market.”

Sotubo added, “These awards are not just a recognition of past performance; they are a mandate to keep raising the standard. As the Nigerian capital market evolves, Stanbic IBTC will continue to invest in the expertise, technology, and partnerships required to deliver solutions that expand opportunities for corporates, institutions, and the broader economy.”

Eric Fajemisin, Executive Director, Corporate & Transaction Banking, Stanbic IBTC Bank, “The recent awards affirm our leadership in the equity and debt capital markets, underscoring the trust that issuers place in our ability to facilitate transformative transactions. These recognitions highlight our pivotal role in driving market confidence and liquidity. Additionally, our achievements in corporate bonds and commercial paper awards demonstrate the strength of our debt capital markets franchise.

The four wins underscore Stanbic IBTC Capital’s breadth of capability across the capital markets value chain, from structuring landmark equity transactions to maintaining a dominant presence in debt issuance and commercial paper. The firm’s recognition at the AIHN Awards reflects a year of disciplined execution, strong client partnerships, and a clear strategic focus on deepening Nigeria’s capital markets.

As Nigeria’s capital markets continue to evolve, Stanbic IBTC Capital remains positioned at the forefront, combining local expertise with global standards to deliver solutions that meet the changing needs of issuers and investors. The firm’s performance at this year’s AIHN Awards signals not just a strong future, but a solid foundation for sustained leadership in the years ahead.
