The FarmAll Ecosystems Limited has unveiled FarAI, an artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to provide farm management services and connect farmers directly with markets.
The company announced the launch ahead of the World Food Day, describing the platform as an integrated digital solution for crop farmers, livestock keepers, fish farmers and other agricultural stakeholders.
In a statement, the company said FarAI was developed to improve farmers’ access to agricultural information, markets and technology through a mobile application and web platform.
It said the platform combined farm management tools, AI-powered agricultural advice and market-linkage services to help farmers plan production, manage costs, reduce post-harvest losses and increase income.
Samuel Akinyode, Founder of FarmAll Ecosystems Limited, said the platform was designed to address challenges confronting smallholder farmers, particularly limited access to reliable agricultural information and profitable markets.
“Food security will not be solved from the top down. It will be solved in the hands of the farmer,” Akinyode said.
He said FarAI brought agricultural knowledge and digital tools together in one application, enabling farmers to obtain practical guidance on crop production, livestock, fish farming and other agricultural activities.
According to him, the platform is designed to provide agricultural advice through voice or text in English, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo and Nigerian Pidgin.
The company said FarAI also featured market-linkage services to connect farmers with buyers, traders, cooperatives and other off-takers through its Farmtakers, Farshare, Coohub and farmtap services.
It added that the platform offered production planning, farm budgeting and income-tracking tools to help farmers monitor expenditure and identify additional revenue opportunities.
Other features include a Formulation Lab for guidance on feed, fertiliser and pesticide formulations, as well as a Post-Harvest Hub for monitoring spoilage, shelf life and storage needs.
The company said the platform also provided nutrition guidance linking farm produce with household dietary needs.
It said farmers could access verified agricultural experts for online consultations, telephone calls or farm visits when additional assistance was required.
The company identified post-harvest losses, limited extension services and weak market access as major challenges affecting agricultural productivity and farmers’ earnings.
It cited estimates that Nigeria loses up to 40 to 50 per cent of perishable produce after harvest, noting that such losses reduce farmers’ income and the quantity of food available for consumption.
FarmAll said FarAI was developed to address these challenges by combining artificial intelligence, local agricultural knowledge and direct market connections in a single platform.
It added that the application was designed for everyday Android phones and low-bandwidth conditions to improve accessibility for farmers.
According to the company, FarAI is available for free download on the Google Play Store and can also be accessed through its website, www.farai.ng.
It said its core features were free, while a low-cost Pro subscription provided access to advanced tools, including the Formulation Lab and Post-Harvest Hub.
The company added that an iOS version was planned for release on the Apple App Store.
FarmAll Ecosystems Limited is a Nigerian agri-technology company focused on using artificial intelligence, agricultural knowledge and market access to support farmers and other actors across the food system.
The company said its broader objective was to improve farm profitability and contribute to food security across Africa.
